Virtual Winter Session of The League of Extraordinary Makers

Starts Wednesday, December 9!

"By far the best art class- drawing class. I’ve been to lots of classes where I have to copy. In this class I get options. I get to make the idea my own."--Josie, Member of the League of Extraordinary Makers

We welcome new students AND returning students to the League of Extraordinary Makers, Winter Session! Connect with other creative middle school makers to explore a range of art media while forging new pathways on our individual artist journeys. Be part of a group of creative and like-minded young people where your great ideas are welcome! We'll provide the art supplies for pick up. Taught by Emily Hemeyer, long-time Artscope teaching artist and extraordinary maker!

Hibernate and Create with Artscope

Order now for pickup before Winter Break!

Though the continuing pandemic has forced us to cancel our Winter Break School's Out, we're excited to offer opportunities for kids to stay home, find a cozy spot, and create something memorable over Winter Break and beyond. Our Hibernate and Create kits include written and video instructions from our teaching artists, plus the art and craft supplies you need to bring your vision to life! There are three different kits available for three different creative experiences. Order your Hibernate and Create kit by Wednesday, December 16 and you'll be able to pick it up in time for Winter Break fun!

ART PARTIES!

Artscope’s Cottage is a fun and unique place to host your child’s birthday party. Or any celebration for your child and their group of friends! And its not just kids who can have a party at Artscope--grab your besties and plan a creative and fun evening out with our artists!

Parties are 90 minutes long, and include a teaching artist, a 60 minute make-and-take art project chosen from our menu of options, and 30 minutes built in for cake, ice cream and presents.

For grown up parties, we offer the same deal--but feel free to bring your own grow up beverages!

We offer party packages for up to 10, 15 or 20 participants. Participants must currently be enrolled in kindergarten through age 101.

SCOUTING PROGRAMS

Artscope can tailor an enriching experience for your Daisy to Senior Girl Scout Troop, or Boy Scout troop!

Whether your troop members would like to earn a badge, do a Make and Take, create DIY swaps, or increase their artistic skills, we’ll host a workshop for your troop of up to 16 in our Cottage in Tower Grove Park. Or, for an additional fee, we can come to you!

Contact us at info@artscopestl.org to find out about booking a scouting program.

ARTISTS-IN-RESIDENCE PROGRAMS

For well over a decade, Artscope has been proud to offer local schools an artist-in-residence, providing much-needed access to arts education for students who may not otherwise benefit from the creative and life skills that are developed through
art-making.

In the 2019-2020 school year, Artscope is partnering again with St. Francis Cabrini School, where Emily Hemeyer teaches art classes to students in grades K-8, and Marian Middle School, where Sarah Paulsen teaches art in this all-girls middle school.

In Spring 2020 we are starting residencies with Kairos Academy and St. Cecilia School and academy.

If you are interested in embedding one of Artscope’s skilled, professional teaching artists in your school to provide high-quality arts learning to your students, please call us or contact info@artscopestl.org We’d love to start a conversation with you.

PROGRAMS FOR SCHOOL AND COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS

Artscope is mobile! Not only do we provide arts learning in our Tower Grove cottage, we also partner with local schools and community organizations to bring the art to where you are! Some of our recent partnerships include:

  • Adult crafting workshops with the St. Louis County Libraries

  • Before school arts enrichment with Mallinckrodt Academy, St. Louis Public Schools

  • Summer pop-up art classes in Fox Park with DeSales Community Development

  • Neighborhood Mural Program with Tower Grove Neighborhood Community Development Corporation

Community is a core value at Artscope, and we value the opportunity to partner with like-minded organizations to increase access to artistic experiences for all St. Louisians. Contact us to get the conversations started! info@artscopestl.org

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

Providing increased access to the arts for children is integral to Artscope’s mission, and we seek to provide up to 20% of our Summer Camp Create participants with scholarship support so children of all backgrounds may attend Artscope.

Our scholarships are based on need, and are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis until we fill all available spots. A family may request up to two weeks of scholarship support each summer, per child. Scholarships must be requested by the parent or legal guardian of the participants. Families with multiple siblings are welcome to apply.

Our Summer Camp Create scholarship application is now open.  Check our Summer Camp Create page to find the application.
