I like to create paintings that are both realistic and abstract. This means the painting will be made of up splashes, brush strokes or other painterly techniques, but will include a real subject matter. The subject maybe abstracted by painting techniques, but there usually is a focal point where the subject is painted more precise. Creating art this way draws from all of my knowledge and skill, challenging me to create something more than a reproduction of what I see.
